2: Eligibility Requirements:

You have to meet the following conditions to signup for Amazon Prime Student:

  • To sign up for Amazon Prime Student you must have an Amazon Account.
  • You must be a college student currently enrolled in at least a single course at a college located in one of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.
  • You must provide proof of enrollment upon request.
  • You must have a valid “.edu” e-mail address.
  • You should not use your student e-mail address for more than one Prime Student membership.
  • You should not avail Amazon Prime Student more than once.

You can still subscribe and enjoy features and perks. If you’re able to provide proof of enrollment in at least one course at a college or university, you can still subscribe to Prime Student through this alternative process.

You can provide proof of enrollment by sending an e-mail to [email protected] from the e-mail address associated with your Amazon account. Please make sure that the payment details of your Amazon account are updated with a card that is not expired before writing to Amazon.

The email should include scanned copies or photographs of following:

  • Your student ID displaying the current term or an expiration date. Everything clearly mentioned. 
  • Your transcript or class list for the current term with your name and your school’s name on it.
  • Your tuition bill for the current term with your name and your school’s name on it.
  • An official acceptance letter for the upcoming term (must include matriculation date).

 After the email if Amazon finds you eligible they will send you a follow-up email. It takes around 3-5 business days, The email contains a link which allows you to complete the signup process without a .edu email address. However, you must sign up for within 14 days of receiving the follow-up email, or else you will need to contact Customer Service again to register.

4: Switching from Amazon Prime to Amazon Prime Student

If you are currently subscribed to  Amazon Prime with an annual or monthly plan and you are also enrolled as a student with a valid .edu email address, you are eligible for subscription.

To convert your membership from Amazon Prime to Amazon Prime Student, simply go to Amazon Prime Student and complete the sign-up process as shown above.

Remember that you don’t need to cancel your membership prior to signing up for Prime Student. After you are verified as a student, Amazon will refund the amount you were charged on your renewal date or a prorated refund if benefits were used.

Note: If your Prime membership is associated with a service you receive through another company (such as Sprint), you will need to end that association before being able to sign up for Amazon Prime Student.

  5. Click End Membership
